Franco still wields power, allege nuns
Sister Anupama, a representative of the protesting nuns, said reporters at Kuravila-ngad near here.
kottayam: The nuns of Missionaries of Jesus who levelled allegations of rape against Jalandahr bishop Francko Mulakkal on Sunday said the bishop, who was relieved of his pastoral responsibilities by Pope Francis, still interferes with the matters of diocese.
“We believe that Bishop Angelo is the apostolic administrator of Jalandhar diocese,” Sister Anupama, a representative of the protesting nuns, said reporters at Kuravila-ngad near here. “But when we see the kind of letters, we doubt whether Bishop Franco still wields power in the diocese.” The statement comes a day after Jalandhar diocese PRO issued a statement countering an e-mail sent to the nuns by Bishop Angelo assuring them they will not be ousted from the the Kuravilangad convent immediately.
