Andhra Pradesh: RTI chief sends notice to official

AP state RTI commissioner Thanthiya Kumari issued show cause notices to officials over neglecting to clear the RTI representations in time, here on Thursday. The commissioner had two-day review with the officials from Rayalaseema region over pending RTI cases. She was informed that pending issues were cleared in 24 cases and 11 cases were adjourned.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms Thanthiya Kumari said the people need not to come to officials on pending issues pertaining to RTI and commission was coming to people. More than 70 percent of cases were cleared during the regular visits, the commissioner briefed and further added the RTI Act is friend of poor person but it should not be misused.
