Hyderabad: 100 ft road to ease traffic at Somajiguda
Sources said the GHMC had prepared the road development plan after receiving consent from landowners whose property would be acquired.
Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has decided lay a 100-ft wide road from Green-lands guest to The Park Hotel at Somajiguda via Methodist Colony to create an alternative road for motorists and ease the pressure on the Somajiguda road.
Sources said the civic body had prepared the road development plan after receiving consent from landowners whose property would be acquired. According to an official, the road would connect Necklace Road from Prakashnagar, Kundanbagh IAS quarters, Methodist Colony and Bhramanvadi. Slum dwellers opposite the White House building would be rehabilitated.
The proposed alternative route, which will be about 2.5 km long from Greenlands Junction to Necklace Road, is expected to bring huge respite for motorists as it would reduce the heavy traffic load on the arterial Begumpet-Somajiguda-Khaira-tabad stretch. This road often sees traffic jams or slow-moving traffic.
