Fera proceedings against TTV Dhinakaran to commence soon
Adjourning the matter to April 13, the judge informed the counsel for Dhinakaran, the court will commence the proceeding soon.
Chennai: The Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (EO-II) Court, Egmore at Allikulam has informed AIADMK Deputy General Secretary, TTV Dhinakaran that the Fera case against him was reopened by Enforcement Directorate and the proceeding would commence soon.
Refusing to adjourn the matter for a few days, Judge S. Malarmathy, has posted the matter to April 13 for further hearing. The ED registered two cases against Dhinakaran – one was alleged transfer of 1.04 crore US dollars to Dipper Investment through Barclay Bank, Virgin Islands, and another illegal routing of 36.36 crore US Dollar and 1 lakh Pounds for starting star hotel in UK.
The prosecution examined three witnesses and 39 incriminating documents were submitted in the first case and the 12 witnesses examined and 85 documents submitted in the second case. Dhandapani prayed the court to frame charges against him. The counsel for the TTV Dhinakaran sought adjournment of the proceeding for a few days. Dhinakaran has not appeared before the court on Monday.

Meanwhile, ACMM (EO-I), Egmore has adjourned the plea of AIADMK General Secretary V.K. Sasikala, seeking appearance before the court from Bengaluru jail in the two decade old Fera case against her through video-conferencing, to April 18.
