Chengannur is for congress, says Mukul Vasnik
Congress is taking out the yatra, in protest against the corruption of the officials under the state government.
KOZHIKODE: The politics in Kerala is changing in favour of Congress and the change will result in the Chengannur election too, said AICC general secretary Mukul Vasnik. He was addressing Janamochana Yathra led by KPCC president M.M. Hassan at Arayidathupalam in Kozhikode on Tuesday. Congress is taking out the yatra, in protest against the corruption of the officials under the state government, especially those under the revenue department.
The rally was flagged off on April 7 from Kasargod by senior Congress leader A.K. Antony. "BJP will face the same failure they faced in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Chengannur, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram would not be favourable for them. Narendra Modi as well as Pinarayi Vijayan are not keeping their promises made before the elections. Farmers are dying every day in the country. Fury of the peasants and Dalits is against the Modi government," he said.
"Similar situation is faced by the people in Kerala under the LDF government. Political murders are increasing. Killing of Youth Congress leader Shuhaib in Mattannur, tribal youth Madhu and recently, the custodial killing in Varappuzha are examples," he added. The event was presided over by DCC president T. Siddique. MPs M.K. Raghavan, M.I. Shanavas and P.K. Kunhalikkutty were present.
