Kendriya Vidhyalaya principal held for accepting bribe of Rs 1 lakh

Chennai: The CBI arrested the Principal of Kendriya Vidhyalaya, Ashok Nagar, soon after he accepted a bribe of Rs 1 lakh on Tuesday from a person for admitting his son to the school.

The CBI registered a case against the principal E.Anandan, under section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act on the charge of demanding a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from a person for admitting his son in the 1st Standard under RTE Quota for SC candidate.

The CBI laid a trap and caught him red handed while accepting the bribe. In a search conducted at his residence at Ashok Nagar, the sleuths seized incriminating documents and 3 locker keys.

Anandan was produced before the Principal Special Judge for CBI Cases, A. Thiruneelaprasad who remanded him to judicial custody upto April 24. He was lodged at Puzhal prison.
