Not disqualifying G Kishan Reddy, BJP is illegal, says TRS

EC of India in not disqualifying G. Kishan Reddy and the BJP from contesting the election of the Secunderabad Lok Sabha seat as illegal.

Hyderabad: A writ petition has been filed in the Telangana High Court seeking to declare the action of the Election Commission of India in not disqualifying G. Kishan Reddy and the BJP from contesting the election of the Secunderabad Lok Sabha seat as illegal. The petition against Kishan Reddy was  for violating election rules by influencing the voters by way of circulating voters slips along with the party symbol and withdrawing a huge cash amount of Rs 8 crore by violating RBI guidelines and Income-Tax Rules, and Representation of Peoples Act for distributing the money to voters.

G. Pavan Kumar Goud, election agent of  the Secunderabad Lok Sabha TRS candidate T. Saikiran Yadav moved the plea contending that the BJP and its candidate were indulging in the irregularities and had violated the Model Code of Conduct.
