Hyderabad: Telangana state minister and MLA from Sanathnagar constituency Talasani Srinivas Yadav, his son Saikiran Yadav, who is contesting on a Telangana Rashtra Samiti ticket for the Secunderabad Lok Sabha seat and two others were booked by the Hyderabad city police for organising a political meeting without seeking prior permission and for disobedience of the police orders.

On Monday, a religious meet was held in a private school at Rezimental Bazar. The organisers of the meeting had taken permission to organise a religious prayer which eventually turned into a political campaign.

A flying squad of Hyderabad city police which learnt about it has lodged a complaint at the Gopalpuram police station, following which a case has been registered.

Gopalpuram police said, “Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, his son Saikiran Yadav, TRS corporator Akula Rupa and one Rajeshwar Rao have been booked under Sections 171 C r/w 171 E, 188 r/w 34 of IPC and Section 21/76 of the Hyderabad City Police Act. They obtained permission for a religious prayer, but conducted a political campaign.”

Meanwhile, three cases were also booked against TRS Mahabubabad constituency contesting candidate Maloth Kavitha, ex-MP Seetharam Naik and ex-minister Azmeera Chandulal and several others at Venkatapur, Tadvai and Mulug police station for participating in election campaigns without taking permission from the concerned police personnel.
