Yelliddiyappa Balakrishnan: CM HD Kumaraswamy flexes muscle?
That event held at Mandya last year marked the father\'s love and affection for his only son.
Bengaluru: “Balakrishnan Yelliddiyappa?". Yes, you read it right. It is not the now infamous line, "Nikhil Yelliddiyappa," uttered by doting father, Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy while releasing the audio of Jaguar, his son, Nikhil Kumaraswamy's debut film which not only went viral but was even been registered as the name of an yet to be filmed movie by a major production house!
That event held at Mandya last year marked the father's love and affection for his only son. 'Balakrishnan Yelliddiyappa', was the twist that a furious CM Kumaraswamy gave to his own line while campaigning in the city on Monday night.
Visibly irritated, he was reacting - albeit outrageously and completely out of line - over the IT department's letter to Election Commission of India lodging a complaint about the interference by CM, KPCC president and other Congress and JD(S) leaders. In his complaint, Mr Balakrishnan had said that the political leaders including the CM, KPCC president, did not get permission to hold a dharna outside IT department office, and that secondly, they had prevented government officials from discharging their duty.
In a clear warning to the IT commissioner against taking a confrontational approach with political leaders, Mr Kumaraswamy resorted to his famous line and said, "Yelliddiyappa Balakrishnan. Don't try to play with us." He also alleged that it was the BJP which had prepared the letter submitted by Mr. B.R. Balakrishnan and accused Mr Balakrishnan of doing this to get a governor's post on his retirement.
