Hyderabad: Eamcet now factors in NEET
Eamcet on Sunday set to cover homeopathy, ayurvedic, others.
Hyderabad: JNTU convener N.V. Ramana Rao said that the afternoon Eamcet test on May 15 would be held as announced but admissions would be confined only to courses like ayurveda, homoeopathy, agriculture, veterinary sciences, horticulture, pharma and BTech (biotechnology) in various colleges.
Admissions to medical and dental colleges will be taken up through Neet, as per the directions of the Supreme Court. The common entrance tests by private college managements in TS and AP have been effectively ruled out by the Supreme Court. The entrance tests were slated for May 13 in AP and May 20 in TS.
Although no official announcement has been made, Telangana Private Medical and Dental Colleges Association president C. Lakshmi Narasimha Rao stated that like the state government, they too would have to fall in line.
The private colleges managements have to refund registration fee of Rs 2,000 to each applicant. Nearly 6,600 students had registered for admissions to the management category seats in 13 medical and 10 dental colleges in Telangana. The government is holding the test for non-medical streams for BPC students, and may not have to refund fees to the students.
