Hyderabad: Ravi Prakash refuses notice, stays off questioning
TV9 former official asks police for 10 days time.
Hyderabad: Former chief executive officer V. Ravi Prakash of Associated Broadcasting Company Pvt Ltd (ABCPL) did not accept the Cyberabad police notice served under Section 160 of CrPC and stayed away from questioning.
He is said to have responded to the police through an advocate and sought 10 days to attend the questioning in the cases of alleged forgery registered against him.
The Cyberabad police questioned Mr M.K.V.N. Murthy, former chief financial officer.
In one case registered on the complaint of Mr P. Koushik Rao, director of Alanda Media, Mr Ravi Prakash and actor S. Shivaji were booked for allegedly creating an agreement of share purchase in ABC Pvt Ltd but the transfer of shares was not effected.
Shivaji allegedly issued a notice to Mr Ravi Prakash on March 15, and the latter allegedly issued a reply two days later refusing to conduct the board meetings.
The complainant alleged that some unidentified persons had stolen data and given it to outsiders to damage the company’s reputation and create an irreparable loss. It alleged that fake news was circulated on social media that Alanda Media had illegally acquired equity in ABCPL.
In another complaint, Mr Koushik Rao stated that company secretary Devender Agarwal’s signature was forged and a resignation letter submitted on his behalf, which was allegedly approved by Mr Ravi Prakash to prevent the official from uploading the names of new directors of the company to the Registrar of Companies.
Notices were served to Mr Ravi Prakash and Mr Murthy on Thursday. After Mr Prakash refused to accept the notices, the police took a written reply from him.
A senior Cyberabad police official said Mr Murthy’s statement was being recorded. “Ravi Prakash responded through an advocate seeking 10 days time.”
