Puducherry: The never ending fight between the two constitutional heads in Puducherry reached the national capital with Lt Governor and the Chief Minister flying to New Delhi where Ms Bedi accused Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy for 'not letting his own government function'.

"It is the Chief Minister himself not letting his own government function. The Lt Governor is a strength and support, not interference," said Ms Bedi.

Once again reminding the government that she did not want to be a rubber stamp, Ms Bedi said that it is responsibility the Lt Governor to see proper examination and scrutiny of the files that has been sent by the government and that cannot be called interference as charged by the Chief Minister.

"When files are sent to the governor for approval, the administrator would seek clarification and ask for more information. It is to ensure that the files are being prepared in a correct manner. Asking questions is not interference," said Ms Bedi in New Delhi while talking to media persons.

Ms Bedi said the Chief Minister is not going through the Rule of Business in which it is clearly stated that the administrator may call for papers relating to any case in any department and such request shall be compiled with by the official concerned.

Narayanasamy met President Pranab Mukherjee in New Delhi on Saturday along with health minister Malladi Krishna Rao. Both are expected to meet home minister Rajnath Singh among others to explain their sides on the ongoing power struggle.
