Staying focussed helped toppers crack JEE Advanced exam

Bengaluru: State topper for JEE (Advanced) Adway Girish, also a football enthusiast, believes the timing of events that is taking place in his life can’t get any better. The results announced on Sunday saw the youngster, hailing from Thiruvananthpuram and a student of FIIT-JEE PU College, HSR Layout in the city, secure All India Rank (AIR) 43, he was elated that it happened just four days ahead of the start of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

“I had given up my time to play and enjoy my favourite sport since classes for I PU commenced to focus more on academics. I aspire to get a seat at IIT-Bombay to pursue electrical engineering for my higher education,” he said.

Bettering his own rank (AIR- 55 to emerge state topper then too) that he managed to secure in the JEE (Mains), the preliminary exams, held earlier this year, he scored 289 on 360 marks to achieve the fete. 

The youngster, who scored 95% at the PU boards in the Science stream this year, revealed that working on the basics helped him crack the code to get one step closer towards achieving his dreams. His mate from the same institution, Arihant Samar secured AIR 113 to reach Rank 2 among IIT aspirants from the state. 

With PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) being his favourite trio when it comes to academics, he said spending time preparing for the exams never put him under any pressure. An aspiring computer engineer, the youngster is now all set to dive deeper into the domain of Artificial Intelligence (AI) where he hopes to create a mark of his own in near future.

Aniruddha R Latkar of Deeksha PU College, who secured AIR 179 (Category), sees himself studying Aerospace Engineering at IIT-Bombay or Chennai. Attributing his success to the teachers and mentors at his  college, the youngster said the conducive atmosphere at the institute helped him prepare better for the exams.
