Jagan to Distribute JVK Kits to Students in Vijayawada
Vijayawada: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy will distribute Jagananna Vidya Kanuka (JVK) kits to students for the fourth consecutive year at Krosuru village of Palnadu district on June 12.
The Chief Minister will set the foundation stone for developmental works at the AP Model School and would address a public meeting. He will formally launch the distribution of JVK kits free of cost to 43,10,165 students of Classes I to X in all government and aided schools across the state costing Rs 1,042.53 crore in Krosuru of Pedakurapadu constituency in Palnadu district on Monday.
Minister for education Botsa Satyanarayana said that the Jagan Mohan Reddy government shouldered the responsibility of students' education for their bright future.
He explained that every student will be provided with a kit consisting of bilingual textbooks, (English content on one page and Telugu version on the other), notebooks, workbooks, three pairs of uniforms with stitching charges, a pair of shoes and two pairs of socks, belt and a school bag, Oxford English – Telugu dictionary (for students of Classes VI to X) and Pictorial Dictionary (for students of Classes I to V) at free of cost.
The minister said that the distribution of kits on the first day of reopening of schools itself is the speciality of the Jagan Mohan Reddy government.
Satyanarayana further explained JVK kits will undergo quality checks in four stages including that of Quality Council of India (QCI). He recalled that the TD government gave no provision for student accessories.
He said, “Totally transforming the situation, our Government is providing JVK kits on the day of the reopening of schools. As our students grow into global citizens, let corporate schools compete with government schools.”
