Focus on local developments: AC Moideen
Industries minister calls for environment-friendly ventures.
KOZHIKODE: The commercial and industrial growth of Kerala should start at panchayat level, says industries minister A.C. Moideen. At an interactive session on drafting the industrial policy here on Monday with representatives of industry and commercial ventures, he said local level developments would make the state business-friendly.
The government would expedite state highways. Work on the coastal road will begin soon. The first phase of the waterway from Kovalam to Kollam will be ready in a year. "We also expect to acquire land for Calicut International Airport soon," he said. "The new policy will mainly focus on encouraging environment-friendly ventures. The mission is to make the state one of the top ten industrial states in the country." The policy will also stress on startups to encourage entrepreneurs with innovative ideas.
