Hyderabad: 2 burglars held, Rs 7.3 Lakh stolen goods seized
Further investigation showed that Sridhar and Sharath had been arrested earlier in several cases of burglary and were remanded.
Hyderabad: A man from Bengaluru and his aide from Telangana state have been arrested by the Rachakonda central crime station police, who recovered stolen articles worth Rs 7.32 lakh from their possession. A search is on to nab another accused who is from Chittoor.
The police was investigating a series of burglaries that were reported at Ghatkesar (3), Medipally (2) and Bhongir (1). Acting on a tip-off, they apprehended D. Sridhar, 30, of Kothapet and P. Sharath, 26, of Bengaluru, at Yamnampet crossroads.
Further investigation showed that Sridhar and Sharath had been arrested earlier in several cases of burglary and were remanded.
But they went back to their old ways and together with one B. Devara Rajasri Ganesh, 36, a resident of Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh, they had burgled six houses in Telangana state and one in Alipiri in Andhra Pradesh.
Bhongir DCP K. Narayana Reddy said Sridhar had been arrested seven times since 2008 in 33 cases of burglary. Sharath had been arrested four times in 10 cases since 2012. The police recovered 18.3 tolas of gold, 2 kg of silver articles and a television based on their confession, he said.
