UA Khader gets Rs 10 lakh medical aid

KOZHIKODE: Providing relief to ailing writer U.A. Khader, A. Pradeep Kumar, MLA, on Wednesday handed over the cheque for Rs 10 lakh  to meet the treatment expenses of the writer at his residence. He was undergoing treatment after pulmonary surgery and knee replacement surgery. Ministers T.P. Ramakrishnan and A.K. Saseendran had earlier visited his residence and informed the writer that the government would bear his medical expenses. Rs 10 lakh has been allotted from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund for his treatment.

Pradeep Kumar, MLA, said that U.A. Khader is one of the most valued people in the literary world and the government considers him as an asset of the society. “The state government would offer complete care and protection to the author”, he added.

Khader, while expressing his gratitude said that the assistance of the state has inspired him to return to literary life more vigorously. “The government has given value to my literary career and the Rs 10 lakh I received will rejuvenate me,” he added.
