Heavy rainfall in store for Telangana, Andhra Pradesh

There was moderate to heavy rainfall in various places in the two states on Thursday.

Hyderabad: The IMD has forecast heavy rainfall in the two states from Friday. TS is likely to get normal rainfall till August 17, and intense rainfall from August 18 to 24.

AP is expected to receive above normal rainfall till August 24 due to the revived monsoon currents.

There was moderate to heavy rainfall in various places in the two states on Thursday.

For the first nine days of August, TS had 14 per cent rainfall, and Rayalaseema five per cent.

The rain was surplus in Coastal AP.

There was no prediction of heavy rainfall for Hyderabad. The city on Friday is likely to be generally cloudy with one or two spells of rain and thundershowers.

For Telangana state, the IMD said heavy rains are very likely to occur at isolated places in Mahbubabad, Kothagudem, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Khammam, Suryapet, Nalgonda  and Mahbubnagar districts.

The IMD forecast heavy rainfall at isolated places in West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam, and Nellore districts of coastal Andhra Pradesh and all over Rayalaseema starting from Friday till August 15.
