N Chandrababu Naidu: Public satisfaction is sign of good governance
Mr Naidu spoke of taking real time measures to maintain greenery and sanitation in various municipalities and urban areas.
Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said public satisfaction is key to good governance. He reviewed the Municipal Administration and Urban Development department Command Communication Centre (CCC) at the Secretariat Block-II, on Thursday. He monitored a few municipalities online where some development works were in progress and said online services will help in reducing wastage of time and eliminating corruption.
Mr Naidu spoke of taking real time measures to maintain greenery and sanitation in various municipalities and urban areas by monitoring from the CCC. He instructed the officials to encourage common public taking active participation and responsible with regard to sanitation and works by honouring them, as they are a part of the society. He said awareness should be created among the people to maintain sanitation and being partners in it.
He said officials should strive to secure 80 per cent public satisfaction in governance and then increase it to cent per cent. He suggested that the officials make students to be a part of the programme and also provide Intellectual Property Rights to their ideas. He told the officials to blacklist agencies if they were not maintaining proper sanitation, apart from initiating disciplinary action. He told the officials to provide incentives those working effectively.
Mr Naidu said officials should introspect themselves and know where they stand in providing services to the people. He asked them to create awareness among the public on the activities being monitored through the CCC. He recommended all the government departments to implement such communication centres. He suggested that 2-3 departments which had less prominence to collaborate and establish one CCC.
Municipal administration director K. Kanna Babu told the Chief Minister that they had identified 18,500 black spots in the state, which will be monitored daily online with the sanitations staff through the CCC. He said efforts are on to transform these black spots to green block spots. Mr Babu explained that the black spots would be monitored continuously for 7 days and the sanitation and cleanliness works would be taken stock. For this supervision, 850 members are being given training as Smart health public workers.
