Aung San Suu Kyi draws heavy flak for inaction

Deputy Chief Minister said that he had handed over a representation to Union Minister Sushma Swaraj, asking her to take the issue up with Myanmar.

Hyderabad: Muslim scholars have demanded revocation of the Nobel Prize conferred on Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi.

At a public meeting held at the Numaish Grounds on Sunday, which was attended by several Islamic scholars and Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Maulana Hamed Mohammed Khan, the president of the Jamaat-e-Islami (Telangana and Odhisa) said that the Telangana Government should provide the Rohingyas with Wakf land in the city.

Meanwhile, the Dargah Jihad-o-Shahadat organized a protest at the Madina building junction, and effigies of the Myanmar government were burnt. A massive rally and a public meeting was organised by the Majlis Bachao Tehreek, at Yakutpura. Many attended Tahajjud prayers at the Masjid in Punjagutta, where they prayed for the safety of Rohingyas in Myanmar. Muslims believe that wishes made after Tahajjud prayers are likely to be fulfilled.
