IT Minister Nara Lokesh gives 90 days' time to IT companies

He also hinted that GVMC elections could take place within six months.

Visakhapatnam: IT Minister Nara Lokesh has asked the IT firms to set up their base as promised within next three months or else lands allotted to them on the Rushikonda IT hills would be taken back by the state government. He also hinted that GVMC elections could take place within six months.

He was here to attend the International Innovation Fair being conducted in the city by AP Innovation Society in collaboration with Indian Innovators Association (IIA).

Speaking on the occasion, IT and Panchayat Raj Minister N. Lokesh said after playing a major role in Third Industrial Revolution, which was led by Information Techn-ology, once again Andhra Pradesh has been gearing up to be part of Fourth Industrial Revolution by enabling Internet of Things (IOT) in all the industries. He stressed that development of Andhra Pradesh would be possible only with innovations.

On the second-day of the fair, he inaugurated the United Nations Asian Pacific Centre for Transfer of Technology (APCTT) international workshop on “Supporting Innovative Entrepre-neurs and Role of Technology Transfer” at the Hotel Gateway.

Emphasising that the Andhra Pradesh government would always give top priority to new innovations encouraging them, Lokesh said they have set up innovation hubs in Visakhapatnam, Tiru-pati, Anantapur and Kakinada to help the aspiring entrepreneurs of the regions.

Claiming that Andhra Pradesh was on development path by using technology, he said the state had registered 11.5 per cent growth rate while the country’s growth rate was 6 per cent.

Vizag MP K. Haribabu, MLA Vishnu Kumar Raju, UN representative Michiko Enomoto, AP IT Adviser J.A. Chowdary, IT Ministry principal secretary Vijayanand, IIA president A.S. Rao, AP Innovation Society CEO Prof. V. Valli Kumari, district collector Pravin Kumar, Foreign delegates and others attended.

The minister also said the Greater Visakha-patnam Municipal Corporation elections would be held soon as well as pending elections in other places across the state too would be conducted in next six months. He said that the people would vote for TD as their government has taken many development works and welfare schemes for the state and public.

People have faith in Desam: Nara Lokesh

Minister for information technology Nara Lokesh said that nearly 80 per cent of the people in Andhra Pradesh have faith in Telugu Desam, and that the TD will retain power in the 2019 elections. TD has been working hard for development of the state and has been giving much importance to complete major irrigation and infrastructure projects. Development is the only agenda of TD and hence people have lots of confidence in the TD government, he added. 

Information technology, manufacturing and some other sectors will generate more employment in the state and people would vote for TD, he added. 

Praising Lokesh, the floor leader of the BJP in the state and Vizag North MLA P. Vishnu Kumar Raju said Lokesh is a smart and dynamic minister and that the IT sector will witness growth under his leadership. 

The BJP leader said that Vizag is best for industries and investments in the state and has been growing leaps and bounds. Mr Lokesh interacted with some foreign delegates who came to Vizag city. They are participating in the International Innovation Fair 2017 at the Gateway Hotel.
