Hubballi: Tempers are rising in north Karnataka where the flood waters are back after Maharashtra opened up its dams once again following heavy rains.

But no one expected the man at the top- Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa who is expected to deliver the healing touch-to lose his cool while visiting flood-hit Belagavi where the people see no end to their suffering. On Tuesday, a visibly angry  CM expressed his resentment against media persons when they asked him about the failure of his government to pay compensation to the family of a police sub-inspector who died after being hit by a speeding car while regulating traffic during the flood on National Highway-4.

The CM initially insisted that compensation had already been paid. Later, senior officials informed him that  compensation is yet to be paid following which Mr Yediyurappa made amends and assured the immediate release of Rs 25 lakh to the family.
