Thrissur: Focus on miniature books’ Sathar Adhoor
Guinness holder shows 1,000 mags with his stories.
Thrissur: Sathar Adhoor, who set a Guinness World Record by making the highest number of miniature books with sizes varying from 4.5 cm to 1 cm, had conducted a novel book exhibition here the other day.
He put on display at Kerala Sahithya Akademi Hall as many as 1,000 magazines with his stories and poems which were published since 2002.
“While the caste and religion of characters are being discussed nowadays, the stories and poems of Adhoor depict different situations in life in the past two decades,” Chief Whip K. Rajan, who inaugurated the one-day show on Saturday said.
Adhoor said that such a show was the first of its kind by any writer and it was arranged in view of International Literacy Day which is observed on September 8.
Agriculture Minister V.S. Sunil Kumar also visited the show. Kerala Sahithya Akademi Award winning author T.D. Ramakrishan was also present.
Mr Adhoor had exhibited 3,137 miniature books, including those written by him, at Kerala Sahitya Akademi Hall in June 2016 in his attempt to set Guinness record.
He had then broken the record of Zerifa Salahova of Azerbaijan, the existing record holder with 2,913 books then.
Out of the 101 chosen by well-known freelance writer Brian Scott, the poem written by Adhoor named ‘One’ which is in the form a miniature book and translated into 66 other languages was mentioned.
