Police on high alert in Anantapur and Kadapa districts

Anantapur: Police have been put on high alert in Anantapur and Kadapa districts following the judicial remand of former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in connection with the Skill Development scam.

TD cadres staged protests at various parts of the two districts, and tried to block NH 44 road at Tapovanam in Anantapur. Police arrested the protesters and shifted them to police stations.

Anantapur DIG Ammi Reddy and SP K. Sreenivasa Rao along with additional forces conducted a march in Anantapur and other sensitive areas. Section 144 has been imposed in the two districts, and no processions or gatherings are allowed, the DIG said.
