SRINAGAR: More Srinagar areas were brought under curfew at dawn on Monday to hold back a tazia procession planned by Shia Muslims to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussain.
The Shia clerics and organisations had in order to follow the tradition announced to take out a mourning procession from Srinagar’s Guru Bazaar to Dal Gate area. But the police and CRPF not only sealed the areas but also laid wire on all roads, lanes and by-lanes leading to these “as a precautionary measure”, also also clamped curfew other in a few central Srinagar police station areas following the killing of a boy last week.
