Self Help Groups women sought out in Vijayawada
Some top leaders from TD and Congress were approached by these businessmen and briefed about the plan.
Vijayawada: Several black money-holders started searching for Dwcra groups and self-help groups having bank accounts, in the capital region.
A few groups were reportedly approached by businessmen and political leaders in Vijayawada and Guntur on Thursday, with offers of commission if they deposited the cancelled notes. Vigilance and police officials are aware of it, a bank official said.
Black money-holders, mostly from the business class with political clout from Vijayawada, Guntur, Visakhapatnam, Prod-dutur, Kurnool, Nandyal, Ongole, Nuziv-eedu, Vizianagaram, Chilakaluripet, Bhima-varam, Tanuku and Amalapuram have started searching for people engaged in brokerage with political links for the purpose.
They don’t have direct access to the 8,87,543 Dwacra women groups, with 89,60,207 members. They constitute a politically powerful group and are generally not harassed.

The women will be given black money with denominations of the demonetised Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes and will be asked to deposit it in their accounts mostly with Indian Bank, SBH and SBI, the official said.
The Dwcra group women leaders have access to ruling party leaders and the businessmen have engaged local leaders as brokers, to carry out this operation from Friday.
The Dwcra women will be assured of getting their loans waived, in case they help out. The only thing required is that they deposit small amounts of money from Friday to the end of this month, and moderate amounts till December 31, Vigilance personnel said. The brokers will be given handsome commission, and the women’s financial needs will be taken care of.
