K Chandrasekhar Rao fulfils another wish

Mr Rao announced a grant of Rs 50 crore for the development of the dargah.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday visited Jahangir Peer dargah at Kothur mandal in RR district to offer ‘chaddar’ to fulfil his votive for the creation of Telangana state. Mr Rao said he had offered prayers at the dargah for Telangana statehood when he was Mahbubnagar MP and had returned to make offerings as thanksgiving.  Mr Rao announced a grant of Rs 50 crore for the development of the dargah. After making the offerings, Mr Rao said it was his old promise to visit the dargah if statehood was achieved, 

“My wish was fulfilled in 2014 I have come here to offer the ‘chaddar’ as thanksgiving,” Mr Rao said. Following requests made by local leaders for sanctioning of funds for development of villages and thandas surrounding the dargah, the CM announced Rs 10 lakh for each village and Rs 5 lakh for each thanda that fall under Kothur mandal limits. Mr Rao also promised to construct guest houses near the dargah to accommodate visitors, besides developing the area as a tourist destination. The Assembly was adjourned early after ministers and TRS MLAs desired  to accompany Mr Rao.
