Kid Glove to guard 'em in cyber space
To create awareness among teachers, parents.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala police cyberdome initiative, Kid Glove, aimed at creating awareness among teachers, parents and children on ways to protect children in cyber space will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday.
The bouquet of offerings under snazzy titles focuses on capacity building to counter and tackle cyberspace threats. Each title works around a theme. The programme is directly under the control of the cyberdome nodal officer, IG Manoj Abraham.
Digital Forest- Journey of Appu focuses on the theme, ‘Let’s help the little elephant Appu to reach his home through the Digital Forest. Jungle Book: An introduction to Cyber world and digital technology. It gives an idea on cyber space, internet working, email, online and offline identity, cyber-crimes and cyber threats.
Membership Cave: An interactive game for kids in which they learn to make good and secure usernames and passwords. It spotlights cyber security concepts, secure private information online, idea on how email works and the importance of keeping personal information private.
Wonder Woods: Amusement time playing games. The concept involves identifying the opportunity of computer science and recognizing their ability to perform well.
Zimba’s Palace: A fun game where some characters like Malwares and Trojans will be introduced that will attack the gamer and the gamer should shoot them for winning the game. It will help learner to protect and handle computer data from cyber threats.
Cunning Fox: A game where kids have to recognize the cyber-crimes for winning. It involves understanding consequences of inappropriate online behaviour and taking measures to protect their offline identity.
Owl’s university: Familiarization with robotic hardware and sensors. This deals with assembling of a simple robot and introduction to basic electronic sensors used in our daily life.
Fairy Mother: A game which showcases various stages of child abuse through fun activity. Identifying good, bad, accidental touch and recognizing child abuse are the highlights of this segment. Forest Guardian: A fun game where a superhero teaches kids about dos and donts when they are exposed to cyber space.
You are Home: A maze game using robot for solving a maze using cyber security facts. It gives an idea on autonomous working of robots, decision making power and computational thinking.
Decision Board: An activity to stick do’s and don’ts stickers. It is aimed to help students develop thinking ability and to distinguish between the legal and illegal.
Parents and Teachers Awareness: An awareness class for parents and teachers about cyber security.
The Stranger: Awareness about fallacious activities on cyber space. It enables the decision making capability on cyber activities.
Robo Con: A basic introduction to robotics and how humanoids work, a short duration workshop on robotics and Internet of Things, including Alexa. It is an interactive introduction to IOT and robotics.
Ravenclaw: An interactive chat bot that asks questions. Idea is how to deal with issues.
AR World: An AR based interactive game for android and the concept is about students learning new technologies which help them to educate themselves to play safe games.
