Agriculture min distributes welfare aid to differently-abled

Thanjavur: The state Agriculture minister, Mr. R. Duraikannu distributed benefits to the tune of Rs 1.14 crore to 179 differently-abled persons at the collectorate here on Saturday.

The minister said that government was keen in the uplift of differently-abled persons and hence has made three per cent reservation for them in employment. All facilities are provided to them so that they may come up in life using the facilities, he hoped.Local area MPs’ R. Vatithilingam, K. Parasuraman and Bharathi Mohan, A. Annadurai, Thanjavur district collector and others participated in the function.
Later, the minister reviewed the preparations to meet the Northeast monsoon and preventive measures taken against dengue fever, among others at an official meeting held in the collectorate.
