Telangana: The curious case of Kukatpally seat
Tamilians and Keralites who mostly reside in Balanagar and Fathenagar play a pivotal role in the elections.
Hyderabad: The Kukatpally Assembly constituency is one of the ‘settler seats’ in Telangana, with a high proportion of non-TS voters. The constituency is influenced by natives of neighbouring states like AP, Kerala, Karnataka and by north Indians.
Most people hailing from AP are settled in the Kukatpally Housing Board, Moosapet, Bharatnagar, Mothinagar, Borabanda and Boyenpalli.
Their impact in the constituency is about 60 per cent.
Tamilians and Keralites who mostly reside in Balanagar and Fathenagar play a pivotal role in the elections.
Linguistic minorities especially Gujaratis, Marathis, Rajasthanis and Sikhs are also deciding factors.
After state bifurcation, Kamma community of AP has a great impact in this constituency.
