HYDERABAD: With the prices of commercial LPG rising, the Telangana LPG Distributors’ Association has urged customers to pay their dues, saying the prices will return to normal within 10 days.

At a press meet here on Thursday, office-bearers of Telangana LPG Distributors’ Association said that eight lakh commercial cylinders of 19 kg are sold every month to various commercial establishments like hotels, restaurants, street vendors and food processing industries in the state.

With effect from November 8, the PSU Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) withdrew the discounts on commercial LPG on Centre’s directive. The distributors said that the hasty decision was causing chaos in the market since OMCs have not issued any official communication to distributors or customers.

“We are deliberating with OMCs to give some window to reorganise the trade and adjust the pricing policy in a staggered manner rather than taking abrupt decisions without consulting stakeholders,” the distributors said.
