Alappuzha: Palakkad champions in state school festival
The festival witnessed the lowest number of appeals that helped the organisers finish the competitions in time.
Alappuzha: Palakkad overthrew reigning champions Kozhikode to win the trophy in the 59th edition of the state school Kalolsavam which ended here in the wee hours of Monday. Palakkad district scored 932 points, Kozhikode, champions for over a decade, came second with 929 points and Thrissur third with 905 points.
The curtain came down on the three-day austere festival without any concluding ceremony or presentation of gold cup to the winners.
The organisers claimed that the festival was a big success as it was held without any major complaints though a few judges were changed, including Deepa Nishanth, judge in the Malayalam essay writing competition on Saturday.
The festival witnessed the lowest number of appeals that helped the organisers finish the competitions in time. The next year’s Kalolsavam will be held in Kasaragod.
