Not wearing mask? Shell out Rs.100 fine in Andhra Pradesh
If establishments, firms or shops allow any person without a mask into their premises, they shall be fined
Vijayawada: In the wake of the spread of Omicron, Andhra Pradesh has imposed curbs to check the spread of Covid19. The government issued an order on Thursday listing restrictions/guidelines issued by the Centre in this respect.
Wearing of the mask by all individuals in public places is mandatory. Non-compliance shall attract a penalty of Rs 100. The mask should cover the nose and mouth. If establishments, firms or shops allow any person without a mask into their premises, they shall be fined Rs 10,000 to Rs 25,000 depending on the gravity of the offence.
In case of any gross violation in following the Covid protocol in any market or commercial establishment, such facility shall be closed for one or two days. The market associations shall be activated to generate awareness on Covid-appropriate behaviour in such premises and on the penalties.
Case of violation of Covid-appropriate behaviour may be brought to the notice of the authorities by means of posting photographs on WhatsApp number 8010968295. An appropriate mechanism has been created to take action against shops flouting the Covid protocol.
All gatherings and congregations including marriages, religious gatherings and social activities shall be permitted to a maximum number of only 500 participants in a staggered manner. All participants shall comply with Covid guidelines by wearing the mask, doing frequent hand sanitization and maintenance of social distance.
Any violation of norms results in prosecution under sections 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and section 188 of IPC as well as other applicable laws.
Collectors and district magistrates, commissioners of police and SPs shall enforce the orders in the state scrupulously.
