File returns by January 15, Telangana tells staff
It stated if they don't file the returns they would be violating Telangana Civil Services (Conduct) Rules.
Hyderabad: The state government has fixed January 15 as the deadline for government employees to submit their annual property returns. It has warned of action if the employees fail to file the returns in time.
Despite repeated remin-ders over the past few mo-nths to file the returns by December 31, 2017, 10 per cent of the 3.5 lakh emp-loyees have failed to do so.
Taking a serious view of the issue, the general administration department on Thursday issued directions to all the departments to ensure compliance with norms.
Citing the service rules, the order says every government employee other than a member of the Last Grade Service and Record Assistant in the General Subordinate Service must submit a statement of all immovable and movable, if its value is more than '1 lakh before January 15 of each year.”

Employees associations have alerted their members to file the returns before the deadline.
They are cautioning the staff that if the property returns are not filed, it would be difficult for them to claim legitimate ownership in case if ACB takes up raids as all such properties would be treated as ill-gotten wealth.
