Tamil Nadu: Devotees throng Pariyur Kundam fest

The Tirupur MP, Ms. Sathyabhama, top police and government officials took to the fire walk by stepping on the Kundam.

ERODE: Devotees from across the state and neighbouring states took part in the famous Pariyur Kundam festival near here on Thursday.

The renowned Pariyur Kondathu Kaliamman temple festival began near Gobichettipalayam in Erode district on December 28 with various special ‘poojas’ everyday. The ‘kundam (fire-walk)’ part of the festival began on Thursday. 

The Tirupur MP, Ms. Sathyabhama, top police and government officials took to the fire walk by stepping on the Kundam.  Some 50,000 devotees  from state, Kerala and Karnataka took part.
