Vijayawada: The temporary Secretariat would be constructed in 45.12 acres area at Velagapudi village.
The state government has released GO No. 32 for the construction of temporary capital Secretariat in an extent of 45 acres here on Thursday.
Municipal administration minister P. Narayana said that the government would construct the buildings in 27.18 acres and public utilities would be developed in 18.47 acres. The temporary Secretariat would be constructed into six blocks.
The government has allotted lands from survey number 196 to survey number 200 and survey numbers 204, 205, 207, 208, 214, 218 for temporary Secretariat purpose.
However, the tender process for temporary Secretariat is still pending with Capital Regional Development Authority (CRDA). Though Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and CRDA officials reviewed the tenders, they did not finalise when the contractors, L&T and Shapoorji and Pallomji quoted excess.
Actually, the government had fixed Rs 3,000 per each square meter but two companies bid is at a cost of Rs 4,000 per square meter.
According to sources, the government requested the two companies to take up the works with only five per cent excess at a cost of '3,150 per square meter.
