Gap to wriggle out of charges at petrol bunks
There are some alternatives to overcome the transaction charges at petrol bunks and gain some amount on the usage.
Hyderabad: There are some alternatives to overcome the transaction charges at petrol bunks and gain some amount on the usage. Almost all petrol companies are offering customers petrol-/diesel cards. The only disadvantage of these cards is that they must be used at an outlet belonging to the same company and one that has this facility.
A senior officer of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited from Mumbai, GSV Prasad, said that the cards have been introduced a long time ago. “We have 14,200 outlets across the country. We have introduced the petro card system in 7,000 bunks, mostly loc-ated in cities. Simil-arly, HPCL diesel card holders can utilise the card at 8,500 bunks located on highways,” he said.
He said that petro card users will get 0.75 per cent cash back on purchases as per RBI guidelines, up to March 31, 2017. “Apart from this, we provide loyalty points on every transaction which will have about 20 paisa per litre and the customer can utilise it on the next transaction. All diesel and petro cards are pre-paid.
The customer should deposit some amount in his account, starting from Rs 100. The main advantage of these cards is that the customer will not have to pay transaction charges like for debit/credit cards," he said.
