Payyoli municipality achieves a rare feat
Kudumbashree home shop facilitates products reaching households at reasonable rate.
KOZHIKODE: Payyoli has been declared as the first municipality to attain complete Kudumbashree home shop status. All the 36 wards in the municipality have now at least a home shop unit. As many as 62 homemade products are made available through the venture.
Home shop is a community marketing network of members of Kudumbashree families. The products made by Kudumbashree members will reach each household thereby ensuring a regular income for the member and the buyer getting home made products at a reasonable price. Direct selling, devoid of middleman, will cut short the price. Credit is also being made available.
"Using the Kudumbashree products sans any health hazard chemicals should become a habit at each household," says Payyoli municipality chairperson V.T. Usha.
Excise and labour minister T.P. Ramakrishnan declared the municipality as a complete home shop one. K. Dasan MLA, Kudumbashree district mission assistant co-ordinator T. Gireesh Kumar, K.V Chandran and M.V Sameera spoke.
