YSRC meeting for BCs on February 17
The committee members would tour all the 13 districts in the state to collect the information.
Rajahmundry: YSR Congress will organise a state level meet for backward class communities titled 'BC Garjana' at Eluru in West Godavari on February 17.
YSR Congress senior leader Y.V. Subba Reddy told newsmen here on Monday that their party chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy appointed a committee led by Janga Gautham to study the living conditions and problems of people belonged to backward classes. The committee members would tour all the 13 districts in the state to collect the information. He added that the panel had come up with a comprehensive report that was submitted to their party chief. He said that their party chief would announce measures their party was going to take if and when it comes to power after elections to ensure the welfare of the BCs in the state.
Referring to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's 'Dharma Porata Deeksha' held in New Delhi, the YSR Congress senior leader wondered why the CM was doing so when elections were to be held in just a few months.
He described the action as farce and asked Mr Naidu why he failed to join their party when they questioned the Centre for according special category status to AP. With regard to recent announcement of forming of several corporations for BCs, the YSR Congress leader asked why the CM was doing so when elections were just a few month away while he has ignored the welfare of BCs all these years after assuming power as Chief Minister.
