Wakf CEO sent back to his parent unit
The MIM prevailed over the TRS in the first meeting of the Wakf Board on Saturday.
Hyderabad: The MIM prevailed over the TRS in the first meeting of the Wakf Board on Saturday. The MIM moved a resolution through its members for the suspension of chief executive officer Mohammed Asadullah and booking a case for alleged irregularities.
TRS members opposed it, along with Mr Tafseer Iqbal, an IPS official, stating that the Board could not suspend the CEO, a deputy collector rank revenue officer; it can only recommend action. The board cannot lodge a criminal case CEO without an inquiry, they said.
The MIM persisted and, after four hours, the Board resolved to repatriate the CEO to his parent department. Board chairman Mohammed Saleem said the CEO, after the Board was constituted and without its knowledge, had issued proceedings conferring auction rigths for revenue to Dargah Annaram Sharif at Warangal. The officer said he had no powers to do so.
