West Godavari Police beef up security for conduct of polls

Eluru: As election code of conduct comes into force, WG police have initiated a series of measures to help conduct of polls in a free and fair manner in the district

West Godavari SP M. Ravi Prakash in a meeting with the police officers here on Monday said that they had identified 1,057 sensitive polling stations and were providing security arrangements. He added that they had appointed 55 flying squads and 53 static surveillance squads. The SP stated that they had set up check posts to avoid illegal transportation of cash, gold, liquor.
