Nizamabad: 210 agents fill up poll booth
Around 179 farmers including three from Hasakotthur village are in the fray.
Nizamabad: In a surprise move, around 210 polling agents on behalf of contesting farmer candidates sat in the polling station in Hasakotthur village in Kammar-pally mandal in Nizamabad district on Thursday.
Around 179 farmers including three from Hasakotthur village are in the fray. As a result, a huge number of agents sat in tents at the polling stations on behalf of farmers. In view of the high number of polling agents, police forces were deployed on a large scale in Hasakotthur as a precautionary measure.
Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Andeti Gangadhar, independent candidate said that three farmers from Hasakotthur village are in the fray as MP candidates. On behalf of 179 farmers, our villagers attended as polling agents, he said.
“We want to show the strength of farmers,” he said.
