Tirupati: One voter dies of sunstroke, other in accident
According to the villagers, the deceased was working as a construction labour in Bengaluru in Karanataka for the past three years.
Tirupati: A 40-year-old man died in a road accident while on his way to his native village to cast vote in Palamaner constituency late on Wednesday. The victim was identified as G. Murali, 40, a native of Vengamapalli village in Thavanampalli Mandal of Chittoor district.
According to the villagers, the deceased was working as a construction labour in Bengaluru in Karanataka for the past three years.
He was driving to his native village to cast his vote when he was hit by a truck on Palamaner-Chittoor by-pass road near Nadimpalli late on Wednesday. Murali died on the spot suffering severe head injuries. Local police registered a case under relevant sections against the truck driver.
Meanwhile, in another incident, an 85-year-old woman died because of sun stroke after returning to her residence at Muttukuru village in Pedda Panjani Mandal of Chittoor district after casting her vote on Thursday. The victim was identified as Mogilamma, who had waited under the scorching sun for two hours to cast her vote, the villagers said.
