Karimnagar shines with increased academic year's performance.
The district placed in the fifth position with 86.47 per cent.
Karimnagar: Karimnagar district performed well in Class X, the results of which were declared on Wednesday. It appeared in the fifth position in the state. Similarly, pass percentage of the students has remarkably been increased compared with previous academic year’s performance.
District education officer S. Srinivasa Chary said that 55,473 students studying in 1,330 schools appeared in the examinations held from March 21 to April 9. Out of them, 47,930 registered pass marks, showing a pass percentage of 86.47 as against 80.8 per cent recorded in 2014-15 academic year, indicating a rise. Similarly, the district figured in the fifth place.
Earlier, it stood at the sixth position. Significantly, girls fared better than the boys. Girl students accounted for 87.5 pass percentage and boys secured 85.27 percentage. As many as 27,964 girls and 27, 512 boys attended the test. Government residential schools and social welfare residential schools achieved over 90 per cent of pass, surpassing private schools which secured 89 percent.
Students can obtain grade sheets from their schools within next 10 days in order to apply for admission into the Intermediate I year. Supplementary examinations will be held from June 15 to June 19. The last date for paying fees is May 26.
Those who would like to apply for counting of marks again are advised to pay Rs 500 for each subject.
