Madurai Bench of Madras High Court issues notice to AIADMK minister
The court asked the minister to give his explanation within three weeks.
Madurai: The Madurai Bench of Madras High Court issued notice to AIADMK minister K. T. Rajendra Balaji, who is contesting in Sivakasi in the upcoming Assembly elections, in connection with an alleged threat case.
ESS Sivakumar from Virudhunagar told the court that Rajendra Balaji used his infulence to remove him from the basic membership of AIADMK because he expressed an interest to contest from Sivakasi constituency. When he started campaigning for his close friend and Congress candidate Raja Chokkar contesting in the same constituency, the minister intimidated him with threats, he said.
Though he filed a petition with the Virudhunagar election officer and SP requesting them to take action against the minister, so far they had not initiated action against him. The court asked the minister to give his explanation within three weeks.
