Kozhikode: Supplyco to sell items at subsidised rates

Kozhikode: Supplyco will launch a Ramzan market as part of the Ramzan season. Rice, sugar and oil among other basic necessities will be sold at subsidised rates. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the state-level launch of the Ramzan Metro Fair at EMS Stadium here on June 13 at 6 pm.
Minister for food and civil supplies P. Thilothaman will preside over the function.

The Metro Fair will function from 9 am to 8 pm till June 24. Ghee and other Supplyco Sabari products will be sold at discounts of up to 30 percent here. The market will also host stalls of Milma, meat products and Horticorp.

Urad Dal, red chillies and different varieties of rice including biriyani rice as well as vegetables will be available at the Supplyco stores at prices lower than in the open market. Officials said that the Government had taken serious note of the increasing trend of the rice market and hence had talked with rice millers and dealers in Andhra Pradesh from where the majority of food items are sourced, to come in terms with a moderate price.
