Day after, next-door neighbours exit too
Some of the families had moved out on Wednesday itself.
BENGALURU: After the collapse of two buildings at Cooke Town, the residents of an adjacent building have also started moving out with their belongings.
It is said that the third building too was built by the same builder against whom the Pulikeshinagar police have taken up a case. While the rescue operations have concluded, as a precautionary measure the third building is being evacuated. Some of the families had moved out on Wednesday itself.
The occupants plan to return only after the officials carry out a thorough inspection and certify that the structure is safe, said a local resident. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the two building that collapsed were located on a marshy area and the builder got permission through illegal means. Later the building plan was also violated by constructing an extra floor.
BBMP officials have said that the two collapsed buildings will be pulled down this weekend. They will be using the 'top down' approach to demolish the building so that the nearby buildings are not affected.
