Hyderabad: The state government on Friday issued orders giving possession of 32 acres of land in Nizampet to the Jawaharlal Nehru Journalists Mutually Aided Cooperative Housing Society for allotment of plots.
Society president Ch Kranthi Kiran thanked Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for clearing legal hurdles and issuing the orders. The land allotted by the Congress government in 2008 was stuck in legal disputes for nearly nine years.
Mr Rao took special care to resolve the case in the Supreme Court by submitting arguments in favour of land allotment. The court in May had directed the government to hand over possession of land.
