Coast Guard undertakes relief operations in different parts of the Kerala

Kochi: Different Coast Guard teams are undertaking flood relief operations in different parts of the state in coordination with Kerala State Disaster Management Authority and is also undertaking sorties for the recce of Periyar and adjacent low lying areas for flood assessment of Ernakulam and Aluva.

A release from the organisation  said that the Coast Guard teams also are working actively in state relief camps opened at various locations.

"Despite the prevailing monsoon weather conditions and incessant rain, coast guard disaster relief teams are functioning at Chellamattom (CGDRT I), Aluva (CGDRT II), Munambam (CGDRT III) and CGDRT IV and V teams are standby at different locations for dealing any emergent situation in the state," the release added.

Coast Guard diving teams are also deployed in flood affected areas for undertaking search and rescue and providing help. \

Coast Guard helicopter CG 805 with aircrew divers were deployed from 10.30 am on August 11 in affected areas along Aluva and Iddukki district," the press release added.
