Hyderabad: Facebook helps trace missing boy
Sujeeth left home as he did not study.
Hyderabad: Facebook helped the family of a missing man to find him after seven years and reunited them. The missing man identified as Sujeeth Kumar Jha was a 15-year-old when he went missing from Moula Ali area here.
Sujeeth Kumar Jha hailing from Madhuban district in Bihar, was living with his brother-in-law Ajith Kumar at Moula Ali area in Malkajgiri. Sujeeth was studying in Class IX in a private school when he went missing from home on January 31, 2011.
“On that day, Sujeeth suddenly left home and did not return. After searching for him, I lodged a complaint with the Malkajgiri police. I was feeling very guilty that the boy went missing because I had forcibly brought him to the city to provide him a good education and I was answerable to his parents”, said Ajith Kumar who lodged the complaint.
A missing case was registered at Malkajgiri police station as Cr No 53/2011, which was later closed in October the same year as they could not trace Sujeeth.
Ajith Kumar, a private employee found Sujeeth’s picture on Facebook and sent him a friend request. But, Sujeeth refused to accept the request and blocked Ajith’s profile. The former then approached the Rachakonda cyber crime police for help in getting back his brother-in-law.
“When I saw Sujeeth’s nickname in his Facebook profile, I got a doubt and wanted to interact with him. But, he refused to accept my friend request and blocked me. This confirmed that it was my missing family member”, a happy Ajith told this paper.
Rachakonda Police Commissioner, Mr. Mahesh Bhagwat said “After blocking Ajith, Sujeeth changed his profile name. Based on the technical information collected, a police team comprising of inspector D Jalandhar Reddy, constables B Rajesh, Ravinder Reddy, and Cheenya Naik went to Mumbai and traced the missing boy to Mazgaon area. He was working with a contractor named Vijay Shrika for the last one year. Sujeeth is 23 years now,” the official said.
